Filming for 'Please Say a Command' wraps up in Pompton Lakes
BY TARA KOLTON, STAFF WRITER, SUBURBAN TRENDS
Downtown Pompton Lakes assumed the role of a movie set last week, as a native of the borough returned to his roots to shoot his independent film "Please Say a Command."
"Please Say a Command" was written and directed by Pompton Lakes native Steve Monarque, and stars Jerry Stiller as Harry, an elderly man trapped in a world of technology. He drives a car without a key, and buys a Bluetooth which he tries to pair with his cell phone, to no avail. From beginning to end, all Harry wants is to get his hands on a hard copy of a newspaper and "feel the ink between his fingers," but even that manages to elude him in the technology-obsessed world around him.The movie also features Stiller's wife and longtime partner-in-comedy, Anne Meara, in a cameo role.
